Bellicum is the debut full-length album from TRAGOS (France), out on Fetzner Death Records.

Founded in Rouen in 2022, the band Tragos embodies the fusion of classical elegance and Death Metal.

The band's new album, Bellicum, aside of its old school Death Metal roots has its songwriting inspired by classical and baroque composers such as Matteo Carcassi, Fernando Sor, Scarlatti and Bach.

Through distortion and melodic progression, each riff evokes a sophisticated musical approach where the art of counterpoint collides with Death Metal brutality.

Across twelve tracks, Tragos explore the diverse forms of human suffering:
– tragic sacrifice ( Lethal Suspiro )
– cosmic vanity ( Narcissus Vortex )
– abysmal horror ( Chthonian Exult )
– morbid sensuality ( Sanguinolent )
– and the madness of the ego ( Egofabulist )

Let's add this a very ambitious work and it's worth some repeated listens to understand the material. It's worth it even if something doesn't click together at first, there still a sense behind it that will make sense later. The band poured quite an effort into this and did not go for the mediocre, popular or ordinary.
